Shame On You

Today I came to the conclusion that January is the most boring month of all months. After the festive period in December and with all the bad January weather it really can be missed. Even February hints more at the spring than January does. March is most obviously the gateway to spring, while April makes it happen and comes up with some early summer bits sometimes. May is fab, as are June to September. October can be golden until November - the ugly twin brother of February - raises its head.

On-Call Service

It´s very interesting that many people come up with one basic conclusion in this networked world: everyone has to provide 24/7 on-call service! If they don´t receive an instant reply on the phone, via e-mail or whatever they tend to become upset. Not so much because there is some fire burning that has to be blown out, but because instant messaging and mobile phone MEANS everyone has to be avaiable all of the time for interaction.

Which is untrue, because with every mobile phone one can switch the ringtone off, leave it in a dim lit corner of their home or simply ignore its presence for a few days. Facebook is good for chatting but aswell chats can be denied. Even the landline in my home is not the red telephone of my life. "The Doctor Is Out", as read in The Peanuts.
