During the last weeks singular bits of news seem to have the power to make the rollercoaster go down or up for half a day or so.  As happened after the mighty wizard Bernake remarked something today. Who knows what news will send them down again tomorrow. However, the global information society provides a very unstable rollercoaster fuel...

Change Of Terms

The recently changed terms of Facebook cause quite a stir, as one can read here.  After a rapid development in 2008, this sounds like a major mistake for the service, not only on the self marketing side. Facebook groups opposed to the new rules have been formed during the last two weeks so it will be interesting to see how this turns out. Social networks do have their very own kind of social clashes, it seems.

At least in three weeks that will be the thing to say. Just this little span of time and we´ll rocket to Bangkok, Penang and Langkawi for three weeks of vacations. We do hope the situation in Bangkok stays as it has been for the last weeks so we can leave the dodgy weather here behind and enjoy the frolics of this metropolis, ping pong balls not included.

Reading these facts about Facebook, I wonder where they host all this and how long it will stay a free service...

More than 800 million photos uploaded to the site each month
More than 5 million videos uploaded each month
More than 20 million pieces of content (web links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photos, etc.) shared each month
More than 2 million events created each month
More than 20 million active user groups exist on the site
