Dying In Public

The media attention to Amy Winehouse is kind of scary. I don´t fancy her music, but watching how the press and other media scrutinise every step of her is truly awful. Because I reckon they are waiting for her to overdose, wreck herself in a car or whatever final action springs to mind. They are longing for a female Kurt Coburn reality show to take place right in front of the camera. This would be even more interesting for them than a dead Pete Doherty could ever be. She would be the first female pop star to end her life under the eyes of the public and provide tabloid fodder for years after.

...and raining! This does not even remotely feel like summer, this is April for beginners. When the BBQ grill was ready yesterday and we put the first mutton over the charcoal, it started to rain. But we still have some trust in August, don´t we? Or a brilliant September, perhaps?

Seeing Paul Potts in every other commercial break here in Germany at the moment, we envision the backlash lurking ahead already now. After hearing his version of Nessum Dorma for the 85th time in a week, people WILL START TO HATE HIM - no doubt. And surely German Telekom - still the dodgiest company around - will realise they did themselves no good after the first million of tissues have wiped away the tears evoked by their singing Pol Pot. Guerrilla tactics in reverse, ey?

Are U Hot?

Sunday saw the arrival of the Cologne Chili Club, which is in fact a gathering of people that are devoted to hot & spicy food. Anyone bringing in dishes with a tang was welcome, which resulted in two tables full of lovely food, mainly covering Asian dishes. Spicy was the word and some faces changed colour while enjoying the food. I heard some funny remarks about my potato & lime curry, which had more than 30 grams of mixed chili in it... There ain´t no gain without pain!

Birthday Greetings

The internet and electronic communication in general has surely changed the world. I recognised this again not so long ago. Last week people came round to my birthday party, send mails, text messages or phoned me up. But there was just one single old fashioned card crawling out of the mailbox. To be honest, it was send to me by my tax adviser! Makes you think, ey?

Pimp Your Canon

This site looks great, as it features various firmware add-ons for Canon digi cams. Such as additional displays on the screen, longer video recording sessions or using RAW format. The small but considerable drawback for me is, that the IXUS 960 IS is not featured! At least so far. So please hurry guys, I want to pimp my Canon too!

The rumours of Jim Morrison hiding on the Seychelles might lead to less tourists crowding a certain Paris cemetery, we think. But there could be an enormous rush of researchers and fans to those islands instead, turning every coconut and rotten leave around. Yes, it would be the greatest stunt in the history of pop music! Bigger than all of the Beatles and Elvis singing in a chip shop together! But we doubt this and reckon it´s the greatest stunt Ray Manzarek has ever staged.
