Why use one Thor synth if you can use six or more in that wee little rack...

Julian Hayward Has Been Conned

Mr. Hayward has too much spare money so he payed around 70000 Euros for two tickets on the first commercial A380 flight from Singapore to Sidney. Hope it was a return ticket anyway! As we push hard to entertain our readers, I just tried to contact him over the LinkedIn network. I wanted to know if he enjoyed the flight and didn´t get sick from all the Champagne flowing. Sadly I was asked to upgrade my free account to be able to mail him. Which I didn´t, because I don´t have too much money. So sadly no first hand report!

Is It Bubbly Time Again?

Looking around in the economic press, reading about the "fading" sub-prime crisis and watching strange graphs of internet companies one starts to wonder. To wonder at what time the bears will dive into a black hole created by the next bubble bursting - aloud. This is no ordinary market situation, there is something going on. The suggestions of putting money into all sorts of shares, funds and certificates NOW speaks a language one has to decipher but surely has to hear.

A blog worth reading about those issues is this German one. We add it to our list of favourites while we watch the stocks climb and are waiting for an incident. Watch the news for an "incident" likely to spark some trouble soon. And watch your money.

The music / video we praised here not so long ago has been taken off the YouTube site. Which is a shame really. Due to the volatile nature of the internet, you can not look at this piece of musical history anymore. Sadly it was not downloaded here before it was taken down. But we can assure you might find it on most p2p platforms by now. Just take a look around.

Oblivion With Bells

This album will definitely put Underworld back on the map, just listened to it for the first time. With a catchy vocodered single release and the tour up & running this is the sort of revival we need to have. Compared to reviving dudes that don´t breath alone like Police, Genesis and others.

And Underworld would deserve a reward for their song titles only! There are not many bands I can name that come up with song titles like Glam Bucket, Cuddle Bunny vs The Celtic Villages or Good Morning Cockerel. Rick and Karl, welcome back!

Technopop

The general rule is, we don´t post videos here very often. And especially this blog is not plastered with YouTube vids every other day. But today there will be a big exception, because I stumbled across a special link. This could be a very raw & early version or demo of Kraftwerk playing Technopop in 1983. Their track Music Non Stop surfaced years later.

Double-Decker Bus

The strangest conspiracy I came across recently is spread on this site. It deals with correlations between - eat your conspiracy heart out - Morriseys work and the death of Lady Diana. We understand that the icon of The Smiths has announced the forthcoming death years before it happened and hints of various other kinds appeared in releases by The Smiths and the old Mozzer himself. Sort of "Bigmouth strikes again"?

Ganesha

The friendliest little Indian restaurant in Cologne for more than fifteen years has been the Ganesha. Recently it saw a refurbishment and the job was done very well, making is more comfortable and more spacious. The only thing missing would be a terrace or something, but within this location it is simply not possible.

The food they serve covers the most popular Indian dishes, which was not common when they started out in the late 80s. At that time they were one out of three I remember in the city. The Ganesha always attracted many students, so pricing after all those years is reasonable. If hungry during daytime, catch their lunch specials. And rather than serving a mild Vindaloo, they ask how you like it and adjust it accordingly. Same goes for he Gosht Handi, which is done very well there. Breads come crispy and if there is one thing to die for, it´s a plate of Dal with just bread and Raita.

So go and see those friendly and caring guys, some have been working there since ages. Which means they may remember you favourite dish or degree of spiciness for years after! Don´t miss is it while in Cologne. The restaurant is located at Händelstraße 26, not far from the Crown Plaza hotel.
