At the Gravis shop in Cologne I saw a fine Logitech Wireless Music System at 29 Euros today. Went to the check out where I had to wait a couple of minutes to be served. Of course all the other shop assistants were busy elsewhere, playing around with gear or chatting to customers. Finally it was my turn and the girl behind the check out asked me to go thru their "new customer system" with me. Sadly she spoke very little German, so typing in my name and address took roughly ten minutes. She did´t even know the major street close to the shop where I live. Never mind, I thought.
Finally she came up with the big news that my item was sort of mislabelled and the system would cost 20 Euros more. Shaking my head in disbelieve she consulted a sort of hurried shop manager in plain clothes who confirmed it was a label belonging to a month old campaign and the price was now 49 Euros. Not a single excuse, no sign of compromise. He´d rather explain to her that it had to be labelled with the new price than say "Sorry" or anything to me. Sort of take-it-or-leave-it.
Needless to say I went for the latter and left their fancy new shop. They showed little knowledge of how to treat customers or make them come back to the Gravis chain. Avoid at all costs!
