The latest computer and gaming shows revealed a new gadget for overflowing PC rigs: the physics accelerator card. Repeat slowly and think about it. Accelerating physics with a card you plug into your PC. Einstein would have been worried. But after we got used to stuffing the rigs with blasting sound cards, high definition grafix cards or QUAD-SLI systems we now will accelerate the simulation of physics in games (at least I can´t think of a use in word processing programs right now) with a new kind of extra processor. It is true that contemporary games do simulate physics in games better than Donkey Kong once did, but buying a card just to make this even more realistic? But maybe I´m too pessimistic, as I thought SVGA was really top notch for gaming...
